I didn’t know making subtitles to your videos can be such a pain in the arse… ugh FML

(Fever series 8) Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning

Fuck do I want a time machine…

What a starting line right? (laughs) Anyway, I was supposed to make the other fever series book reviews but I just can’t help myself anymore, I’m dying to tell everyone what I think of this book. This insanely particu-fucking-lar book.

(I think my PMS is talking dropping all of the f-bombs and whatnot)

Moning is the best author for Cliff-hangers. So, If you’re A-Okay with facing cliff-hanger books I suggest you read her works. She does it damned well. Feverborn is the continuation of Burned where the ending of the book is also a cliff-hanger. It was a pretty good thing that I read Burned only this January and the wait for Feverborn is only a couple of weeks left.

Reprieve is only so little because we Fever series addicts will go nuts when you read Feverborn. I already fucking am on the road to Loony Ville as of this moment when I read the last pages of the story. I freak-fucking yelled (and got yelled back by my mom cause she’s just right beside me when I finished reading the book) I couldn’t stand reading series because this is what they do to you. The waiting makes you go crazy insane. (redundant much but I don’t give a rat’s arse) and when you finally calmed down and the waiting is over you read and savour every word that book gives you… and hope at the end they wouldn’t bite you in the arse with another cliff-hanger.

What I’ve read about this book is that Dani/Jada comes back, Ryodan admits he fell in love, ZEWs has a name, (Zombie Eating Wraiths if you guys forgot.) They’re called the minions of the Sweeper. Someone came back from the dead, Allies with an Unseelie Prince, Cruce gathering minions, Black holes expanding, Drama here, Action there, Sexy times with Jericho Barrons and Pissing off a Hunter.

Edit: I fucking hate Barrons when he said Mac’s not his girlfriend. I want to yell for K’Vruck and he have the same fate as his son. God damn it Jericho Barrons, Make up your fucking mind. You love Mac or not? Just freaking leave her alone if not then, the others of the TEN can take up your responsibility.

This pretty much sums up what happened in the book. (Altho I like the bits where Jericho Barrons came up and mm-yeah I love that guy. Even though he’s an unidentifiable dickhead) I like to divulge the ending of the story so you guys would know what I’m rambling about and why I’m this angry… I’ll just leave you guys to it to figure it out on your own.

That’s enough spoilers if you ask me.

4.5 Rainbow ratings!

Surprisingly, for me It’s a high rating even when I’m grumbling about it right? well, Moning might be the Queen of Cliff-hangers but she did a bang up job for keeping the readers on the edge of their seats and wait in anticipation for the next book. Hopefully, Feversong is the last book or at least the book with the least percentage of angst coming from the readers (probably only me).

Edit: Moning you have to make up yer mind in making who’s prominent on this fever series’ front liners. Is it Jada and Ryo or Mac and Barrons? Although, I pine for Mac and Barrons, Ryodan and Jada needs room to bloom. Lor and Jo too. And is Kasteo and Kat will be a thing? if so make something for Sean O’Bannion or if they’re staying strong at least make Sean know she’s alive. Daku and Fade doesn’t really have much screen time but at least make them appear they’re there… and X she/he needs to be addressed. Ya know unlock everything before you slam all of the revelation in the reader’s lap? It should be gradually… But I’m thinking the next book will be the book of revelations. … I hope.

Now, let me go in my corner and cry a river…

I apologize. . . (Steve Harvey voice) Looks like reviews are going to wait. I’m pulling out the sick card. I hope you guys don’t mind. Thanks.

Book Hangover

I thought having a book hangover is only when you can’t get over a story after you are done reading it. I didn’t know there are books that can haunt you even its been years or months since you’ve read them.

My eBook library consists of two hundred plus books, maybe even three hundred, and some of the books there are not yet read, some had been re-read for a dozen of times, others have been read once, but those one time read are sometimes the kind of book that will haunt me like a ghost if I don’t read them again.

Like my existing problem as of today. I re-read The Accidental Movie Star by Emily Evans and some part of my brain has been nagging me to read a certain scene that the girl is an accidental or newbie in the Hollywood scene then there is this bed scene that they need to shoot and the lead characters got into the scene too much and the heroine’s wardrobe that was used to conceal her girly bits came off because they got into the scene too much, since I didn’t see that scene in The Accidental Movie Star, I was kind of expecting it to see in Emily Evan’s The Accidental Action Star but nope, no such scene was seen there.

(Did I just make a horrible pun? lol ignore me sometimes hahaha)

When I figured out I wasn’t going to see those parts in Emily Evan’s works I scrolled around my library and I think I found my mysterious scene haunting me. I spotted Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre and thought, “Ah, right that scene that has been haunting me since reading The Accidental Movie Star is in there.” But I don’t have time to read it again this month or the next because I am either busy reading my way to coma or stressing myself with all of these school work. I know I should prioritize school over anything else, but when you realize the real deal (known as the real world, jobs and other salary oriented subjects)  trumps the school things, going to school to finish something as basic thing for the real deal is somewhat boring?

I don’t know but since I’m talking about my experience here it could be different to another person. (I’m taking a course I don’t technically love, obviously haha)

Well, that’s it for now I guess, since I think I already made my point. I’m reading Beauty and the Bachelor by Naima Simone. You guys would probably see a review after twenty-four hours because I’m either still out in the university or I’m still not done reading LOL but you’ll definitely see one up once I’m done.

I’m probably going to post a lot of reviews in one sitting because I’ve been reading a lot of books without even posting a review, I know I’m getting lazy but I’ll get to it. Probably start on the Fever series review since I’ve read it last year’s December. A last minute reading. You guys should demand for me to post reviews so that I will feel pressured to make one keep moi  on my toes 😉

Unbound-Colours of Love by Kathryn Taylor

I got a free copy from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review of the book.

Description

  • What’s Yuuto Nagako’s role in the story?

If my mom reads about this story I’m sure her dreams of having a prince charming would be shattered. Jonathan is not really a prince charming material lol.

(Fever Series 1) Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning

Okay, my head is back to the business. Bookishly reviews! or Ranting reviews. Anyhoo, let’s get down and dirty!

Book Description:

MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.

When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….

This book was recommended by my friend who spends a lot of time in her kindle and reads a lot of books, (she probably read a lot more than I did) and coming across this and handing me this information down. Well to you Allie, Thank you very much. I loved this book the moment I stepped forward and met Jericho Barrons. But you wouldn’t peg me as the easy to please type… alright we’re getting a bit off the topic!

Darkfever is novel about a girl who lost her sister and decided to come to Ireland with the hopes of finding justice for her murdered sibling. Driven with hope and a cryptic voicemail she began her journey towards something only special people can experience. Throw in some testosterone showdown and all is right in the world.

MacKayla Lane is someone independent and she uses her brains when faced in difficult situations. I like how her attitude is very much optimistic even though she’s facing grief from the loss of her sister, anxiety or her concern for her parents that was very much grief stricken as well when she left her town and went to the country where her sister was murdered. That’s some balls she packed there, and I like her for that.

Jericho Barrons, the sexy mysterious guy and owner of the bookstore where he and Mac first met. Hmm, I don’t know if I’ve told you guys already or not but I am a sucker for Alpha Males. And Jericho Barrons is one hell of a sexy hot mother fecker. His aloofness will draw you in, his vagueness, dominance? maybe. He’s also the reason why Mac is still alive and breathing in Ireland. He also supplies information to Mac whenever she encounters something that is unusual for her but not for him. Because with that great body strutting around the streets of Dublin for years longer than hers it’s really no-brainer. And–and—if I continue to talk about Jericho Barrons all y’all ever read is going to be about him.

V’lane, the “Death-by-sex” Fae Prince. Hmm, really catchy line isn’t it? Should I elaborate further about V’lane? He’s fae, end of story. Haha. V’lane is sent by the Queen of the Seelie Court to make an alliance with Mac to help the Queen finish The Song of Making that might be residing in the evil book.

If you enjoy the genres of Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller then you’ll probably like this book.

Darkfever is a book that can make you crave being in the story’s setting to experience the full Fae experience.

5 rainbow ratings!

Well done, Moning! Consider me as one of your new number one fans!

Sweet Dreams, Baby

We got our first dog, his name is Toby, I named him after Toby Mcguire of Spiderman, 2009 somewhere around October of the year. I was ecstatic when my uncle brought him to our house, I thought the dog was theirs and he just traveled to our house to let us see the dog but when he told us that it was staying at our house acting as a security guard, I was happy.

When it first barked at me when I annoyed him, I fell on my ass and laughed. It was his first bark, I was curious how he sounded like and when he blessed us his booming bark, I fell on my ass by surprise and laughed. He was there when I was feeling shit, he was still there even if I’m crazy and done things not really good to animals. He was there whenever we came home from a vacation trip, waging his tail, barking madly, sometimes pissing himself from happiness.

He’s an intelligent dog. He begs when he wants some piece of meat that is still on your plate, bites your hand and pulling you to where he wants you to go, gets excited when he heard the word, “Let’s go out”, “You hungry?”, “Let’s play!”. He immediately hides when he hears the word, “Let’s go take a bath.” He was with us when the typhoon “Ondoy” came in the Philippines and our place was flooded, like completely flooded that the ground floor of our house was  nearly submerged with flood water. He was there causing distress, annoyance and happiness.

Now, almost 7 years later, he’s gone.

Watching him die right before my eyes hurts so badly. Yeah I look like I don’t care for our dogs but if I don’t really care about them I wouldn’t waste my time petting them, playing with them, busting my brains out for picking out their names, try my hardest for him (toby is a picky eater) to make their food acceptable to his taste.

When he was taking his last breath, I panicked. I want to CPR him, he was making that look like he was gagging or something with a ten second interval for each time. He was ‘grr’-ing the whole day at 10 PM he started whimpering and I told mom that I think he’s having a hard time breathing because his nasal passage is clogged or something. Sometime at 11 PM she agreed when we tried to make Toby stand up and give him hope that he’ll still see the next day and we will go to the veterinary hospital and he will be fine.

Mom said he’s nearly dying. Now he’s in a peaceful slumber and he could no longer feel pain.We love you, Toby pot, and we will miss you…
